It was too late

image

Run my darling beauty.
Escape the bruises and scars.
The abuse and the pain.

Run before the life is taken from you.

Escape the chains that are keeping your laughter,
smiles,
sparkle from you.

They’ve been replaced with
tears,
black and blues,
excuses for scars,
fear!

An empty shell of who you were is what you’ve become.

Friends and family are pleading,
begging,
praying,
that you escape before it’s too late.

Run my darling beauty before it’s too late.

Oh my darling beauty,
I fear it’s too late now.
He played god with your life.
Took your final breathes from you.

With a knife,
destroyed all that you were.

You fought until the very end,
but my darling beauty,
it was just too late.

Why didn’t you run?
Why didn’t you escape?
Why didn’t you see how this would end?
Why couldn’t you see what others feared?

A life taken too young.

Children without a mother,
Mother without her daughter,
Father without his princess,
Friends without their confidante.
That’s what this coward left.

Your family and friends,
can only find comfort in this tragedy, knowing you will no longer suffer.

But they will always wonder,
question,
Why you didn’t run my darling beauty.

  1. A real man does not use force and violence against a woman, if he does that, he is a coward and a monster.

  2. This is sad beyond words. Thank you for writing it. The world needs to know about this sort of thing. Too often it gets hidden, lost, stuffed on to the back pages.
